TVA/Hale Router Setup

NOTE:

  • If your router displays the message, "plug in cable"
    • check to make sure the cable is securely plugged into the correct port
    • verify that the network cable is in working order
    • if possible, test a neighbor's working router, plugged into your wall jack - If a working router will not connect to the network, create a ticket for Networking
  • If your router is getting an IP address, but not connecting to all websites, carefully follow the instructions below.
  • If your router is NOT working after completing the instructions below, contact your RA who should contact the Housing Office to get a replacement router.

Note: The white <...> port on the back of the router will allow you to connect a wired device to your local network. If you need more than one wired port, you may need to purchase an ethernet switch. Do not connect or daisy chain routers together, as it will cause problems.
